Ventures in Writing

Inside each of us are volumes of stories and experiences. Some of them come from pleasant memories, some from painful ones. Some of them come from things we've seen, read, heard, or experienced. For me, I've been daydreaming and creating stories for a long time and wanted a way to share them with others. This is my sharetime. I encourage you to read and enjoy. Maybe something here will spark that same writing or creative fire within you to write or create your own stories. Thanks and God bless you. [ventures in writing]

Creative Pulse:

"Creative Pulse" is a free publication in Abilene that focuses on the arts (music, writing, painting, sculpture, drawing, etc.) and provides and avenue for local artists to express their gifts. D. Grant Smith also provides guest columns monthly involving music reviews and information.

O Scarlett, Sound Engineer:

D. Grant Smith has been the soundman for many live performances of the local band Clad in Scarlet. The band liked his work so much that he has been requested by Clad in Scarlet to do further sound and production work with the group. He was also instrumental in getting the band in the studio to be a part of a CD project benefitting KGNZ-FM, 88.1, in Abilene. Listen to a clip that he helped produce, recorded at Aardvark Studios in Abilene by producer Doug Roysden. D. Grant Smith and another local record producer, Bo Hancock, are currently producing the band's debut album.

KGNZ-FM Benefit CD:

D. Grant Smith helped produce "The Tower Project," a CD compilation benefiting the new KGNZ-FM transmitter tower. It consists of local artists and bands playing original praise and worship music. Sales of the CD will go to help fund the 700 foot KGNZ tower currently in construction. Among the artists on the project are the Steven Ray Miller Band, The FountainGate Fellowship Worship Team, Clad In Scarlet, Nobody Famous, the Group, and more. Producing the CD are Doug Roysden at Aardvark Recording Studios and Bo Hancock at the studios at KGNZ.
